Allegorical Opium: Society’s Crippling Addiction to Welfare State Socialism


People that want to be alive, really should understand that being alive is something that is earned through a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication, regardless of what people in an American society might think, where the privilege of being alive is handed to everyone like it is a brochure for a shitty tourist trap.

Professional Athletes wanted to be professional athletes, but that is not why they are professional athletes. These people put in a tremendous amount of work to master the elements required to become a professional, regardless of however naturally talented they are, they didn’t simply smoke marijuana and carry a sign saying that they demand to be a professional athlete, in order to become one.

The sort of thinking of protestors and sign carrying rabble rousers is the mentality of a child. The child complains, screams, and throws tantrums if it does not get what it wants. This mentality is ridiculable and shameless. Rewarding this sort of mind set and course of action is literally the powers that be instilling the pavlovian conditioning in the commoner that rewards them for carrying signs and screaming, rather than rewarding them for their hard work and the justifiability of their lives. To accommodate that sort of action is to support adults that act like spoiled indignant children, when the conditioning should reward them for working selflessly for the common good.

Regardless of how terrible life is in third world countries, most of the time nobody goes out and riots or protests with signs. This is because in these places there is no establishment to reward this kind of behaviour. It is completely unnatural for anyone to be rewarded for this, naturally, if the person complains about how the work is hard and unrewarding and so refrain from doing any of it, these people die form starvation because they plant no crops to harvest, or they die from the cold because they have no shelter from the rain. 

People in the less developed parts of the world understand this, yet somehow this basic knowledge has escaped many people in developed nations, largely due to being raised with so much luxury and ease of life, that to them, a world without that luxurious life that is handed to them in a nonchalantly without any expectations attached is unthinkable. On top of this, people actually complain viciously about the system that coddles the indignant masses and supports their cries of the “unfairness” of how they don’t get things like higher education and healthcare for free, when people around the world that don’t even have access to clean water or modern medicine are willing to work for 10 hours a day to make enough money to get by. 

The reason that they do this is because they want to survive, and not only this, but they know what is means to survive, and they know what it takes to survive. People in the developed world live in a sort of perpetual childhood where things are consistently handed to them, they don’t know much if anything about where they came from or what it take to make them, but they like what they are given and so they childishly expect to get what they want. It is thinking like this that deludes their sense of the world and how it functions. Children act this way because they are accustomed to it, and don’t have the capacity to understand much of the way the world works. It is acceptable for a child to act like this because of the extremely limited knowledge capacity and labor capacity of a small child. However, it is inexcusable for adults to have this mentality of a small child when it comes to being a part of society. 

The parts of the world that still understand this continue to thrive to this day. The parts of the world that don’t struggle under the weight of their obligations to their own socialistic welfare state policies that inevitably continue to condition this dysfunctional mentality. Still, it is clear that the aforementioned policies act much like heroin to these people, who continue to chase the dragon, developing tolerance to the welfare, then seeking higher doses of the welfare. Sadly, it is not the beneficiaries that suffer the crippling effects of collapsing veins, abscesses, and infections caused by the abuse of the drug, but it is the benefactor that faces these woes. 



This is not to say that the allegorical opium has no use, or is pure evil. Much like modern medical opium, there are many practical and extremely viable uses of such a powerful substance, it is simply that when doled out in a willy nilly manner or as an attempted panacea that societies run into the crippling problems that allegorically parallel the problems many people abusing heroin and prescription opiates face on a daily basis.

Social Naturalism

All jokes aside, as much as I may seem like someone with silly opinions regarding politics and society, I would argue that I am some sort of Social Naturalist. I tend to take things that can be observed in nature and attempt to apply them to human society. Nature has existed and thrived for many millions of years, where human civilization has only existed for a few millennia and is clearly struggling to refrain from eradicating itself along with most if not all life on the planet.

Nature is cruel, remorseless, and indifferent to all suffering, but this is why nature is so wildly successful. Survival is a challenge in and of itself, but in order to thrive one must be the most competitive life form performing it’s role. In the case of humans in the role of sapient life, this sadly is not saying much, because the man running in a one man race always wins.

Many concepts that provide the basis of tremendous success for many other forms of life can be emulated by humans, and the same success can be had by humans who would otherwise go without. Natural Selection is absent from modern life, and thus it must be emulated in absentia in order to prevent the degradation of the quality genetics that allowed the prehistoric humans to succeed in the first place. This does not necessarily involve reducing survival rates or “killing” anyone, it can be humanely accomplished through a culling of the population that sorts people based on skills and traits.

Humans are shortsighted and self-centered, and this leads to many of the atrocities committed by man. Were the animal kingdom revered, people would respect things like specialized skills of insects, which allows colonies of ants and bees to function, as each member is willing to accomplish their role, because this is the natural way of life for an ant. Rather than having a choice, which ultimately gives the human the choice to fail, and accomplish little to nothing, humans can be culled by their innate strengths and channeled into development and education that accommodates and emphasizes improvement of these things.

This system would train people in what they need to know to be able to succeed in a field that they are naturally capable of being successful in from an early age, rather than have them taste all of the flavors of utility in the hopes that they like one of them enough to follow through with learning it to a constructive point. This would help society and diminish the amount of children in school who dislike school, or feel like they are not being challenged, by putting them in a scenario where they can enjoy or at least tolerate what they are doing and are expected to develop skills in a focused area rather than learning trivial things that will provide them no utility later on in life.

This need for this type of system becomes more and more apparent as civilization, technology, and science become more and more complicated, and thus take longer and longer to learn to the point where an individual is positioned to contemplate them seriously in an attempt to progress the field rather than learn something that is already known. By streamlining education and allowing children and people to pursue that which they enjoy or are interested in, then they can spend most of the day doing such learning, rather than enjoying one out of the seven classes that they teach.

Though everyone may not be academically gifted, there are still many other opportunities. Physical labor and skilled craftsmen are very valuable, and allowing children to focus on improving their physique or craftsmanship rather than struggle through many years of English classes or math classes would accommodate people who would likely have little use for knowledge of literature or advanced mathematics. Given that a craftsman would need to use algebra or trigonometry, the reception of such learning would be greatly improved if it were fought in a way composed largely of real world examples of where the craftsman would use such mathematics, rather than in meaningless rows of equations.

To anyone arguing that this is a form of oppression, it is much more like a military draft, or a civil form of conscription. Inevitably, people are forced to do things, whether or not they like them. This includes work and going to school for most people that exist. By attempting to facilitate the interests and passions of children and people, it is ultimately helping them by refraining from wasting their time with things they have no use for.

With a system like this, children could graduate from school and be qualified to perform skilled labor, or intern in an advanced field while continuing their education. This scenario is much more ideal than putting all students out in the world qualified to perform solely unskilled labor, most likely for minimum wage, with a dearth of any specialized skill set.

The organization of such a system would also prevent people from over saturating a field where there is no demand, as is the case with many liberal arts degrees. These people would be allowed to study these things if they truly were interested, but it would be much like a minor at college, as they are told that there is little to no opportunity for employment in such a field, but they can pursue it as a hobby if they do desire. They would be shown other fields that they had an amount of aptitude for an instructed to pick the one that interested them. This is done of course in an effort to better their lives, and prevent them from wasting their time.

As I am not really a naturalist, I do not know of every form of society within the kingdom of life, but surely there are many more animal societies that people can learn from and attempt to emulate in an effort to improve society and the currently reproachable impact on the planet that humans have at this time. Nature truly is the best role model available to humans if they desire to create a society that lasts through the ages, just like nature has. The current model humans use to create their society is doomed to a destitute existence due to the lack of concern for natural factors such as carrying capacity, natural selection, and other things that turn a population of otherwise reasonable sapient animals into a horrendous cancer that consumes the planet relentlessly until it meets it’s inevitable demise when it’s parasitic lifestyle can no longer be supported by it’s host.
